Its story

55 Sagittarii is a pale yellow F-type star in the rich field of the Archer, some 177 light-years out from Earth. It shines just above the galactic bulge, where the Milky Way swells outward into its densest belt of stars, interstellar dust and dark obscuring clouds. A quiet, clean glimmer cleanly set against one of the heaviest backdrops anywhere in the entire summer sky.
