Cool red starIts story
In Aries burns a rare red star, cold and enormous, the kind that tinges its corner of the sky with pale ruby. Its light crossed some 673 years before reaching us: it set out around 1353, when the Black Death had just ravaged Europe and Boccaccio was finishing the Decameron. Cooler than the Sun but vastly larger, it looks like an ancient ember still alight.
