Its story
Near the lyre of Orpheus glows a K-type orange giant 324 light-years from us. The light now crossing the atmosphere set out around 1702, as the opening battles of the War of the Spanish Succession were being fought. Cooler than the Sun and considerably larger, it holds its calm flame like a long-sustained note at the cosmos's edge of hearing.
