Del-2
Variable starIts story
Delta-2 Lyrae is the dominant light of Stephenson 1, the loose open cluster to which it belongs. Once a hot blue main-sequence star, it has aged into a red supergiant swollen to nearly three hundred solar radii, radiating ten thousand times the Sun's luminosity while its brightness drifts in slow, irregular waves.
