Its story

59 Serpentis is a yellow G-type variable in Serpens, around 470 light-years away from Earth. Its brightness wobbles gently —the same kind of subtle internal pulsations Hipparcos and Gaia have carefully catalogued in thousands of sun-like stars across the sky. It beats slowly inside a constellation split into two separate bodies, head and tail, on either side of the great healer Ophiuchus.
