Its story
36 Draconis appears at just 75 light-years away, a remarkable proximity that makes it a cosmic neighbor of the Sun within the huge circumpolar dragon. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter and more luminous than the Sun, with a similar metallicity to our own. Visible all night long from northern latitudes, it wheels around the celestial pole and never sets below the northern horizon.
