Its story
100 Herculis is a white A-type star lying just over one hundred and twenty-five light-years away, a relatively close distance in galactic terms. Its light departed around the late nineteenth century, when astronomical photography was beginning to transform how the sky was charted. It dwells in Hercules, the great mythological figure of the northern summer sky, where it keeps company with constellations as renowned as nearby Lyra and its brilliant Vega.
