Hot blue starIts story
2 Persei is a hot blue B-type star 482 light-years away, opening the Flamsteed list for Perseus —the constellation of the hero holding Medusa's head. Hotter and more massive than the Sun, it lives fast: stars of its class rarely last more than a few hundred million years. The light arriving tonight left around 1543, the very year Copernicus published his heliocentric model.
