Its story
In Hercules, the hero of the twelve labours, shines a white A-class star whose light set out around 1618, when the Thirty Years' War was breaking out in the heart of Europe. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, it radiates a cool, firm glow typical of young, well-formed stars. It quietly accompanies the famous globular cluster M13, another dweller of the constellation, a reminder that in this corner of the summer sky the apparent stillness hides deep jewels.
