Its story
14 Ophiuchi shines 181 light-years away within Ophiuchus, the great mythological figure of the serpent bearer that straddles the celestial equator between Hercules and Scorpius. It is an F-class star, white with a faint yellow touch, slightly hotter and noticeably more luminous than the Sun. Its light crosses less than two centuries of space before brushing the upper atmosphere —a strikingly short trip on galactic scales, almost a local errand.
