Highly luminous starIts story
In the Southern Triangle blazes an astonishing beacon: a yellow-white type-F star whose light has been travelling toward us for more than three hundred thousand years, a distance so colossal it lies beyond the familiar bounds of our galaxy. When that light departed, Homo sapiens did not yet exist as we know him today. It is a colossal luminary, thousands of times brighter than the Sun —only so could it cross such an abyss— and a reminder that some stars are true lighthouses of the deep universe.
