Chi
Its story
Chi Cassiopeiae forms part of the silhouette of the seated queen whose asymmetrical W presides over the northern sky year-round. It is an orange K-type giant at 208 light-years, neighbour to a field crowded with open clusters visible to the naked eye on dark nights. Its warm glow contrasts with the white stars that trace the throne.
