What is 109 Virginis
109 Virginis shines with the clean white light of an A-class star, some 134 light-years away in the constellation Virgo. Its cool, hard tone betrays a surface much hotter than the Sun. The light reaching a telescope tonight left it back when the first steamships were crossing the Atlantic in the early nineteenth century.

109 Virginis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is April: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
