Its story
102 Virginis, also catalogued as Upsilon Virginis, is an evolved yellow giant that has swollen to twelve times the Sun's diameter and now shines with about 65 solar luminosities. Its surface, near 4,700 K, runs cooler than the Sun's—the unmistakable signature of a star already well into its mature phase. It lies at 262 light-years within the broad, sprawling form of the Virgin.
