Hot blue starIts story
On the plains of the Centaur shines this hot blue B-type star, set at a colossal distance —hundreds of thousands of light-years— so that its light departed long before Homo sapiens inhabited this shore of the cosmos. It may belong to a distant system beyond the main disc of the Milky Way. Its bluish surface burns far hotter than the Sun's; what little we see is only a whisper of its true splendour.
