Its story
66 Ursae Majoris is a K-type orange giant burning about 310 light-years away, set in the inner reaches of the Great Bear but well off the Plough's main bowl. Its cool, swollen atmosphere lends it a warm tone easy to pick out against the white suns nearby. It glows where the Bear loses brightness and fades into fainter stars, toward the border with the Hunting Dogs.
