An orange K-type giant rests in Ursa Major, burning with the gilded ember of stars that have lived long. Its light set out more than two hundred years ago, when Beethoven was premiering his first symphonies and the Industrial Revolution was beginning to reshape Europe. Cooler and far vaster than the Sun, it offers sky-watchers a warm pulse among the brilliant stars of the great Wagon.
