What is HIP 52469

A yellow-white F-type star shines within Ursa Major with elegant restraint. Its light reaches us from one hundred and twenty-one years away, the era when the Wright brothers were just beginning to dream of powered flight over the dunes of North Carolina. Hotter and slightly larger than the Sun, it marks the great Wagon with a firm, discreet point —easy to overlook, and easy to learn to love.
