Nearby starIts story
Barely 31 light-years away, this orange class K star is a relatively nearby neighbour peeking out of Hydra. Its light set out in 1995, the very year the discovery of 51 Pegasi b — the first exoplanet orbiting a Sun-like star — was confirmed. Anyone who remembers that summer is now contemplating a glow that was already travelling toward us while astronomy began to populate the sky with new worlds.
