What is 89 Leonis
89 Leonis sits within the body of the Lion as a yellow-white F-type star, almost solar but a touch hotter and more luminous. It is fairly close: only 89 light-years separate us, a distance its light crosses in less than the span of a long human life. The light reaching us today left its surface around 1937, just as the Spanish Civil War was breaking out.

89 Leonis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
