Ome
Hot blue starIts story
Omega Carinae shines more than three hundred light-years away, a blue-white B-type star belonging to the old Keel of the dismantled Argo Navis. Its hot ember places it among the most energetic naked-eye stars of the southern heavens, where it wheels close to the south celestial pole and never sets for observers in the southern hemisphere. It is a sharp, cold flash in a region thick with clusters and nebulae.
