Hot blue starIts story
Deep in the southern reaches of Carina burns a blue-white B-type sun, fierce and youthful, far hotter than our own star. Its light set out for Earth around 226 years ago, when the French encyclopedists were kindling the fires of reason and cabinets of curiosities were beginning to map the sky. That glow has spent more than two centuries on the road to arrive at the exact instant someone looks up.
