Its story
3 Leonis shines with the orange tone characteristic of a K-class star about 405 light-years away, in the regal outline of the Lion. Its surface, cooler than the Sun s, gives it that quiet amber colour that sets it apart from the rest of the field. The light falling on us tonight left around 1620, as the first European settlers were reaching the shores of North America.
