What is HIP 44075
Along the long curves of Hydra shines a yellow-white star about 69 light-years away. Its light set out around 1957, when Sputnik opened the space age and humanity heard, for the first time, an artificial signal coming from the sky. Hotter than the Sun yet of the same lineage, it twinkles close —almost neighbourly— in the long silence of the stars.

HIP 44075 lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
