Its story
57 Cancri is a yellow G-type star 461 light-years away, set in the modest constellation of the Crab, zodiacal home of the northern summer solstice. It shares the Sun's spectral family, though more distant and probably more evolved. The light reaching us tonight began its voyage in the early sixteenth century, in the days when Castilian ships first crossed the Pacific.
