Eta
Its story
Eta Pyxidis is a white A-type star about two hundred and thirty light-years away. Pyxis —the Mariner's Compass— is a small constellation Lacaille carved from the old Argo Navis, the Argonauts' ship that modern nomenclature broke into more manageable pieces. Eta shines in that fragment of sky that still echoes the mythical voyage toward the Golden Fleece.
