Its story
A white ember kindled in the long folds of Hydra, the largest of the constellations. Its light set out 122 years ago, when the Lumière brothers were projecting the first moving images before a stunned Parisian audience. Its A-class spectrum gives it that polished-ice tone —hotter and far whiter than the Sun— visible only when the atmosphere grants a clean, still night.
