Its story
38 Geminorum lies only 84 light-years away, in the Sun's local neighbourhood, within the luminous torso of Gemini. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter and brighter than our own, and its light —sent on its way as the 20th century entered its final stretch— now reaches our eyes exactly as it was then. A quiet neighbour, still in the full flush of its hydrogen-burning life.
