Its story
15 Orionis is a yellow-white F-type star set on the northern reaches of the Hunter, around 538 light-years from us. Its surface runs somewhat hotter than the Sun's, and seen from Earth as a magnitude 4.81 spark, it must be intrinsically very luminous to reach so far. The light now settling into a human eye left that atmosphere when Europe was still drawing its first modern charts of the heavens.
