Its story

Omicron Tauri burns with yellow light at 291 light-years, set within the field of Taurus but beyond the Hyades cluster that crowds the same patch of sky. It is a heavily evolved G-type giant: roughly three solar masses swollen to twenty times the Sun's radius. Its hue recalls the younger Sun it once was, before millions of years turned it into this warm beacon of the zodiac.
