Iot
Its story
Iota Hydri is a yellow-white giant just 97 light-years from the Sun, one of the rare relatively nearby stars in the small southern constellation of Hydrus, the Male Water Snake. About 1.8 billion years old, it is drifting slowly outward. It serves as a modest beacon in a near-empty patch of sky between the Magellanic Clouds and the south celestial pole.
