Its story
Delta Sculptoris is a visual double whose primary is a rare Lambda Boötis star: a class of A-type objects oddly poor in heavy metals, almost naked in iron or calcium compared with their peers. Its faint magnitude 11.6 companion sits some 175 astronomical units away —far enough to resolve through a modest telescope. It lies in Sculptor, another of Lacaille's southern constellations and the one that hosts the south galactic pole.
