What is Sadachbia
Sadachbia, gamma Aquarii, bears in Arabic the name 'the lucky star of tents': it announced the arrival of spring and, with it, the moment when nomadic peoples pitched their camps in the south of the Arabian Peninsula. White and A-class at 164 light-years, she forms a small Y of four stars that was the figurative heart of the celestial water-bearer.
Where it is and when to see it
Sadachbia lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is August: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
