Its story
In the austral bird of Phoenix, deep south, glows this orange K-type star. Its light set out around 521 years ago, near 1505, when Erasmus of Rotterdam was preparing his first humanist writings and Europe was trying to reconcile itself with classical antiquity. Cooler than the Sun yet bulkier, it offers a warm coppery tone. The Phoenix, symbol of rebirth, seems to choose it as a lingering ember, a constant point of light in a rarely frequented sky.
