Pi
Its story
Pi Aquilae is a binary or multiple system about 514 light-years away, sitting barely three degrees north of bright Altair, one of the anchors of the northern Summer Triangle. That apparent closeness makes it a silent companion to one of the most recognisable stars of summer nights in the northern hemisphere: while the eye flies to Altair, this yellow-white star stays as a footnote, the discreet record of a component of the Eagle that few seek out.
