Highly luminous starIts story
In the depth of Sagittarius, towards the galactic heart, shines a particularly luminous orange K-class star, whose light has been crossing the cosmos for 1,977 years: it set out around the turn of the era, when Rome was reorganising its provinces under the first emperor. Its intensity indicates a giant or supergiant, capable of being seen at distances where lesser bodies would fade away.
