Its story
110 Herculis shines from just 63 light-years away, one of the closer F-type stars within easy naked-eye reach. Infrared observations have revealed an excess of heat surrounding it —the telltale signature of a circumstellar dust disk, possibly a leftover from planet formation. Slightly hotter and more massive than the Sun, it traces the northeastern reach of Hercules with a clean, faintly golden white.
