Its story
In the small southern constellation of Apus, the bird of paradise, shines a yellow-white F-type star about 138 light-years away. Its light set out around 1888, the year Eastman released the first portable Kodak and photography passed into the public's hands. Hotter and whiter than the Sun, it flickers like a high note among the bird's feathers.
