Its story

In Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer, glows an orange K-type star about 302 light-years away. Its light departed around 1724, when Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was unveiling his thermometric scale and Europe was learning to measure heat with precision. Cooler than the Sun, it offers that coppery light reminiscent of glowing embers.
