Gam-3
Southern polar starIts story
Gamma-3 Octantis belongs to Octans, the constellation surrounding the south celestial pole without a bright pole star such as Polaris. It is an orange K-type giant at 255 light-years, one of the lights that orbit that austral void where the sky seems to wheel upon itself all night long, lacking an obvious fixed point.
