Hot blue starIts story
A blue-white flame stitched to the back of Lupus, the wolf. Its colour betrays a scorching surface, well above ten thousand degrees, a B-class star that burns fast and dies young. The light we see tonight set out around 1597, while Tycho Brahe was completing his measurements at Uraniborg, before the telescope existed. Four hundred and twenty-eight years of silent travel to arrive as a cold dot among southern constellations.
