Its story
37 Librae is an orange K-type giant some 94 light-years away, a star that has already exhausted its core hydrogen and swollen into the maturity of its life. Its golden hue contrasts with the dominant whites of the Scales and betrays a surface cooler than the Sun's. Each time its glow reaches us after nearly a century of travel, it carries the slow thermal pulse of a body in transition, on its way to its next metamorphosis.
