Highly luminous starIts story
In Cassiopeia beats a rare and extremely luminous yellow giant whose light has been travelling 1,744 years to reach us. When it left, the Roman Empire was collapsing and the long night of late Antiquity was beginning. A class-G sun like ours but of staggering power, it shows what yellow stars can become when they devour their last reserves and swell into burning supergiants.
