Edasich

Its story

Edasich is an orange giant in Draco, 101 light-years away, a relatively close neighbour in cosmic terms. Its name comes from the Arabic «al-dhīkh», the hyena, part of an ancient celestial bestiary that peopled this stretch of sky with watchful creatures. In 2002 a giant planet was discovered orbiting it —one of the first proofs that aged giants also keep worlds in their care.
