Its story
Epsilon Circini is an orange giant in one of the most modest constellations of the southern sky, all but reclining against the brilliance of Alpha Centauri. At 408 light-years, it stands well beyond its hotter, younger neighbours in evolution: a star that has already burned through its main hydrogen and now glows with the slow, almost ruddy radiance of the giant phase.
