Hot blue starIts story
Deep in the southern Centaurus a blue beacon burns 339 light-years away. Its B-type spectrum betrays a furnace where hydrogen is consumed at a pace the Sun will never know. The light reaching telescopes today departed when Galileo first turned his spyglass toward the night —the very night astronomy ceased to be mere geometry and became observation.
