38 Cassiopeiae shines near the W of the queen of the northern sky, just 95 light-years away. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter and faster-evolving than the Sun. The light presenting it tonight departed in the 1930s, during the golden age of Harvard's spectroscopic astronomy.
