Its story
69 Virginis lends its amber hue to the Maiden from roughly 280 light-years away. A K-type star at magnitude 4.76, its light crossed most of the modern era before reaching us. Modest within a constellation famed for Spica, it shares the northern spring stage with the distant galaxies of the Virgo cluster, though it belongs —far closer— to our own Milky Way.
