Cool red starIts story
In Ursa Minor, near the circumpolar heart of the northern sky, burns a very cool red giant of class M. Its light set out around the year 851, when the Vikings were discovering Iceland and Baghdad was living the golden age of the Abbasid caliphate. This swollen, serene beacon bathes the northern sky in the red glow typical of stars that have already left youth behind and are preparing for their final stages.
