Its story
In Centaurus shines a yellow-white F-type star, somewhat hotter and more luminous than the Sun. Its light has been travelling some two hundred seventy-seven years: it set out as Linnaeus was publishing his Systema Naturae and beginning to bring order to the chaos of living beings. It crosses the void with a serene, almost mannered clarity, an Enlightenment light from the Europe of classifications and scientific cabinets.
